Yllana is creativity.

Born in 1991 as a comedy and physical theatre company, it has since then diversified its activity, offering a number of services in the world of audiovisual and performing arts.

It is mainly dedicated to the creation, production and distribution of theatrical shows, but it has expanded its expertise to include corporate events, audiovisual formats, management of theatres, drama schools, and a wide range of diverse projects in the cultural sphere. Yllana’s founding members are Juan Francisco Ramos, Marcos Ottone, David Ottone, Joseph O’Curneen and Fidel Fernández.

Over the last 35 years, Yllana has produced 42 theatrical shows staged over 16.000 times in over 48 countries and have drawn in almost 6 million viewers.

Prominent theatrical seasons abroad worth mentioning are: New York, Montreal, Mexico City, Rome, London and Paris. It has also participated in highly prestigious international festivals winning several prizes such as: The key to the city of Caracas for the musical comedy The Primitals in Caracas international theatre festival 2017; the “Outstanding Unique Theatrical Event” award at the Fringe Festival in New York (USA) for 666 en 2009, in 2009; Best Show at the Fringe at Edinburgh Festival Fringe (UK) for PaGAGnini in 2008 by the editors of ThreeWeeks; Best Spectacle Etranger at the Printemps des Courges Festival in Toulouse for Muuu! in 1993.

In Spain, Yllana has held theatrical seasons in all major cities and has been awarded, a host of prizes, worth highlighting here are: the Max Award for Best Children’s Production, awarded to Zoo in 2010; and the Max Award for Best Musical Theatre Production, awarded to The Opera Locos in 2019.

Yllana has also directed shows for other theatre companies and producers, such as the musical Hoy no me puedo levantar (tribute to Mecano) for Drive Entertainments’, Glorious by Peter Quilter, Nearco Producciones; and has furthermore assisted in the production of others such as Mayumana (Israel), Ye-Gam (South Korea), Arturo Brachetti (Italy), The Voca People (Israel), Hermanos de Baile (Spain) and Sexpeare (España), We Love Rock and We Love Queen by Barabu-Extresound, The Full Monty el musical or Campeones de la Comedia (based on Javier Fesser´s movie “Campeones”).

Yllana is still a young and versatile company, highly regarded in the cultural sectors of Spain and abroad.

Yllana has created a number of sketches and advertising spots which have been aired on television in various countries. Since 2009, collaboration has taken place with the Paramount company (VIACOM) on the development and production of new audiovisual formats, of which the series Chic-cas has already been aired.

Since 1996, it has been responsible for the management of the Alfil Theatre in Madrid, a space dedicated to comedy in all of its forms, becoming a benchmark in the theatre scene of Madrid. In 1994 it created the FIHUM (Festival Internacional de Humor de Madrid), a festival which showcased some of the best international comedy shows around. Yllana has also worked in thefield of distribution, organizing tours for international artists such as Leo Bassi, Elliot, Avner The Eccentric, Joseph Collard y Krosny.

Yllana offers assistance and artistic advisory to various entities for the organization of cultural and corporative events, especially where comedy takes on a special role.

Yllana has directed and/or produced the following cultural events: May 2nd Festivities in Móstoles (2025), Don Juan in Alcalá (2024 and 2025), The Mutiny of Aranjuez (2024 and 2025), The Max Awards for the Performing Arts (2010), Presentation Galas of the Red de Teatros de la Comunidad de Madrid (2006), Galas de Presentation Galas of the Temporada Teatral de la Comunidad de Madrid (2005-2007), shows at the Madrid Amusement Park in 2006, 2008 and 2009, and participated in galas and events for Volkswagen, Real Madrid, Mahou and others.

Since 2012, Yllana has directed the Las Rozas Theatre School. In addition, from 2016 to 2024, Yllana collaborates with the Department of Culture of the City Council of Las Rozas in the cultural programming of the Madrid town. In 2017, he also directs the Escuela Municipal de Teatro de Parla (until 2020). From 2018, the Escuela para la Creatividad y las Artes Escénicas de Pozuelo de Alarcón and, from 2019, the Escuela Municipal de Teatro de Tres Cantos. From 2022, he will direct the Municipal Theatre School of Guadalajara. From 2023, the Municipal School of Music, Dance and Theatre of San Martín de la Vega. And since 2024 the Escuela de Actores Voluntarios de Móstoles.

Five of the six schools offer regular courses for all ages, monographic workshops, summer theatre camps, etc.
