Still reeling from the wonderful experience of staging this Don Juan in Alcalá de Henares, we want to thank the entire cast and team with whom we have carried out this challenge, which has given us so much joy.
Our work shows a contemporary piece that respects and contributes Yllana’s vision to the classic original text. The myth of Tenorio mixed with the liturgy of the Alcalá public to attend the performance every year, are the two challenges we wanted to rise to.
A Don Juan without artifice that relies on its actors, its makeup and its costumes… and some surprises that are worth discovering for yourself in the centuries-old Walls of Alcalá de Henares in the most multitudinous theatrical performance in our country.

«Don Juan in Alcalá 2024 exceeded the public’s expectations in its second performance.
The myth of Tenorio arrived on Thursday, October 31 and Friday, November 1, with the classic of always Zorrilla, but with a transgressive point, thanks to the unmistakable twists of the script of the Yllana Company. Very visual and sound with surprises, horses, torches, and gags (…) There are references to the people of Alcalá, humorous gags, and a well-deserved vindication of the role of women, within a highly quarrelsome and sexist character.
The representation of Tenorio by Antonio Pagudo is surprising (…) But even more surprising is the wonderful representation of Julia Piera, who plays Doña Inés.
And all, thanks to the artistic director, Joe O´Curneen, who proposes the return to a classic Tenorio supported by the walls and three stages, but above all in the interpretation of the actors playing with light and sound. »
