Once again this year, we have the pleasure of leading the Mutiny of Aranjuez, a festival declared of International Tourist Interest.
A festival that commemorates the events that took place in this town in March 1808. These events were of enormous historical significance and marked a before and after in the destiny of Spain. They not only marked a change in the leadership of state, with the abdication of Charles IV in favor of his son Ferdinand VII, but also gave way to a bloody war, the result of the Napoleonic invasion. That conflict, which left thousands of victims, finally ended with the victory of the Spanish people and with a fundamental milestone: the proclamation of the Constitution of 1812, popularly known as La Pepa.
That Constitution marked the birth of the modern state in Spain. For the first time, we Spaniards became free and equal citizens before the law. Never before in the history of our country had such a far-reaching political, social, and legal transformation taken place. Spain, as a state governed by the rule of law, had just been born.
And it all began here. From this 21st-century Aranjuez, we want to remember our history to preserve it and, even more importantly, to highlight the rights and freedoms that were so hard to achieve.
At Yllana, we are proud to participate once again in the direction and artistic creation of one of the most emblematic events in our region. We hope you experience this 2025 Aranjuez Mutiny with the same passion with which we prepared it.
Let the party begin! Welcome to the 2025 Aranjuez Mutiny!
