The Assembly Hall of the Department of Tourism hosted the presentation of the 39th edition of Don Juan in Alcalá, a Festival of National Tourist Interest, which will be held on October 31st and November 1st in the Huerta del Obispo of the Archbishop’s Palace, starting at 7:30 p.m.
The performance, directed by Joe O’Curneen (Yllana), will once again feature Antonio Pagudo (Don Juan) and Julia Piera (Doña Inés), following last year’s success. The cast is completed by Rafa Maza, Rodrigo Sáenz de Heredia, Roberto Correcher, David Fernández “Fabu”, Héctor Carballo, Alba Recondo, and Gabriela Flores, among others.
The Councilor for Culture, Santiago Alonso, emphasized that this open-air production brings together thousands of spectators each year in a unique historical setting. In addition, it will once again be streamed to nursing homes and senior centers in the Community of Madrid.
Local amateur theater companies will also participate in the staging, strengthening the play’s connection with the city.
For the second consecutive year, we were responsible for producing and staging the play with a tragicomic approach. Last year, the performances were a huge success with the public, exceeding 20,000 spectators between the performance days and the rehearsal.
