Starring Hugo Silva and Adriana Ugarte and directed by Vicente Villanueva, The Opposite of Love is a romcom aiming to be an x-ray of the state of couples today. Merce and Raúl, after several love failures, meet and fall in love and, inevitably, head towards repeating their often-repeated histories: after the initial romantic phase, fear, control, dependence, trying to change the other and adapt the other to oneself all come seeping out… quite unhealthy, nothing to do with love, but exactly the opposite of love.
The film premiered in August 2011, becoming one of the most popular Spanish comedies of the year. Along with the stars, you may also glimpse Yllana actors Susana Cortés and Cesar Maroto during the film. Yllana, at the hands of Joe O’Curneen, provided comedy advisory services in the gags during film production.
