For Yllana it has been an honour to participate in the direction and artistic creation of the theatre shows within one of the most important popular events in our community: The Aranjuez Mutiny 2024 festivities.

The celebration of the Motín brings together almost 200 residents of Aranjuez, an event that is undoubtedly exceptional. Their dedication, commitment and enthusiasm are the centre of the performance and of this Festival already declared of International Tourist Interest.

The Aranjuez Mutiny is much more than a festival, it is a project of cultural revitalization and tourist promotion in which everything revolves around history. And how important it is to remember it!

The events that occurred in Aranjuez in 1808 were decisive in understanding what would happen in the following three centuries of the history of Spain and Europe. They were the first contractions of a birth that lasted four years and from which La Pepa was born; the most advanced liberal Constitution in Europe, a model for future democracies and an example of equality and rights. Unfortunately, its life was short. Ferdinand VII, the driving force behind the Mutiny of Aranjuez, was its instigator and executioner. La Pepa was repealed, but the collective memory kept it alive and it is present in the spirit of our current constitution.

We would like to thank the Aranjuez City Council and the Department of Culture in particular for their invitation to be part of this popular celebration in which we wanted to put our vision, work and experience. We hope that you enjoy this proposal as much as we did making it.
