Still reeling from the wonderful experience of staging this Don Juan in Alcalá de Henares, we want to share with you some reviews of the show. And also thank the entire cast and team with whom we have carried out this challenge, which has given us so much joy.
The press has said:
«A classic Don Juan, but with a transgressive touch, thanks to Yllana’s unmistakable turns, very visual and with surprises never seen before in the Tenorio of Alcalá de Henares (…)
Joe O’Curneen proposes a return to a classic Tenorio in the interpretation, helped by the absence of scenery in almost all the scenarios. A Don Juan without artifice that relies on its actors, its makeup and its costumes… and some surprises.
A surprising interpretation of Tenorio by Antonio Pagudo (…) And if there is someone who shines with her own light it is Doña Inés (Julia Piera) who, as a novice, has been one of the best in recent years and in the rest of the scenes, too.»

«Don Juan in Alcalá 2024 exceeded the public’s expectations in its second performance.
The myth of Tenorio arrived on Thursday, October 31 and Friday, November 1, with the classic of always by Zorrilla, but with a transgressive point, thanks to the unmistakable twists of the script by the Yllana Company. Very visual and sonorous with surprises, horses, torches, and gags (…) There are references to the people of Alcalá, humorous gags, and a well-deserved vindication of the role of women, within a highly quarrelsome and sexist character.
Antonio Pagudo’s portrayal of Tenorio is surprising (…) But even more surprising is the wonderful performance by Julia Piera, who plays Doña Inés.
And all thanks to the artistic director, Joe O’Curneen, who proposes a return to a classic Tenorio supported by the walls and three stages, but above all in the interpretation of the actors playing with light and sound.»
