On October 31st and November 1st, we experienced two nights that will forever be etched in our memories and in the memory of Alcalá de Henares. Our Don Juan in Alcalá, masterfully directed by Joe O’Curneen (Yllana), became a resounding success, exceeding all expectations, both for the audience’s enthusiasm and for the magic we created together on stage.
We had the immense privilege of having Antonio Pagudo portray Don Juan Tenorio, who delivered a powerful, intense, and nuanced performance. Alongside him, Julia Piera brought to life a delicate and deeply moving Doña Inés, captivating the audience from her very first appearance. Their work, along with that of the entire cast and artistic and technical team, was fundamental in creating a vibrant show, respectful of tradition and, at the same time, brimming with renewed energy.
The audience response was overwhelming: thousands of people came to see us, filling every corner and sharing every word, every gesture, every emotion with us. Feeling the warmth, the applause, and the enthusiasm of so many people reminded us why this event is one of our city’s greatest cultural treasures and why theater continues to be a living bridge between tradition and the present.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to those who made these two nights historic. We have demonstrated, once again, that Don Juan in Alcalá is not just cultural heritage: it is a shared experience, a collective celebration, and a tradition that beats stronger than ever.
