New addition to the programme of the Las Rozas Theatre School: “The Rhythm of Comedy II”, an intensive workshop for adults led by José Padilla. This new proposal reinforces the work we have been developing since 2012 to bring theatre training closer to the local community. Here are all the details:
COMEDY WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS
No previous experience required
This is the second part of “The Rhythm of Comedy” workshop, designed both for those who took part in the previous edition and for new students who would like to join. Priority will be given to participants from the first workshop, but the course is also open to new participants.
In this new stage, we will delve deeper into the mechanisms of comic timing, exploring new staging approaches and materials that will help broaden the actor’s range in comedy.
Rhythm in comedy constantly places the character on the edge: in imbalance, in danger, in the need to react. We will learn how to sustain that edge, how to move from one extreme to another without losing precision or truthfulness on stage.
Using texts by contemporary and classical playwrights, both national and international, we will work on specific tools of the genre that can be applied to different theatrical styles and languages.
