Last Friday, March 21, we received the 2025 Tres Cantos City Award for Culture for the management of the Tres Cantos Municipal Theater School.
Since 2019, we have directed the Tres Cantos Municipal Theater School, promoting artistic training with creativity and passion.
Receiving this recognition is a tremendous joy for Yllana and for all of us who are part of the Municipal Theater School. But this award not only recognizes our work, but also recognizes and reinforces the importance of arts education and municipal schools of art and culture as important pillars of society.
Art transforms us. It teaches us to see the world from other perspectives, to put ourselves in the shoes of others, and to communicate better. Therefore, arts education should not be a privilege, but a right, and municipal schools play a key role in ensuring this equitable access to culture. Since we took over management of the Tres Cantos Municipal School in 2019, our goal has been clear: to offer a space where theater is not only learned, but experienced, felt, and transformed into a tool for personal and professional growth. Thanks to this school, hundreds of people—adults, children, and young people—have been able to experience the transformative power of theater, developing their creativity, confidence, emotional expression, and empathy.
We would like to thank the City Council for this award: a recognition of the tireless work of students, families, teachers, and management. Thank you for making it possible!
