{"id":21630,"date":"2026-09-15T11:05:21","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T09:05:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yllana.com\/the-opera-locos-triunfa-en-argentina-con-tres-premios-hugo\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T11:25:59","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T09:25:59","slug":"the-opera-locos-triunfa-en-argentina-con-tres-premios-hugo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yllana.com\/en\/the-opera-locos-triunfa-en-argentina-con-tres-premios-hugo\/","title":{"rendered":"The Opera Locos wins three Hugo Awards!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">We woke up to some wonderful news: <strong>The Opera Locos has been recognised with three Hugo Awards!<\/strong> The Hugos are the most important awards in musical theatre in Argentina, and were presented at the <strong>16th edition of the Hugo Awards for Musical Theatre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Argentine production of the show won the <strong>Hugo Award for Best Music Hall, Caf\u00e9 Concert and\/or Musical Variety Show<\/strong>, alongside <strong>Best Male Performance<\/strong> for <strong>Duilio Smiraglia<\/strong> and <strong>Best Female Performance<\/strong> for <strong>Constanza D\u00edaz Fal\u00fa<\/strong>. Three major awards celebrating both the production itself and the extraordinary talent of the Argentine cast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This version of <strong>The Opera Locos<\/strong> premiered on 16 April at the <strong>Teatro Politeama in Buenos Aires<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Juan Jos\u00e9 Campanella and 100 Bares Producciones, together with PAC \u2013 Performing Arts Content<\/strong>. It was a collaboration we were especially excited about, allowing us to create an Argentine version of the show with an outstanding cast and a personality all of its own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">At the helm of this new production was <strong>Joe O\u2019Curneen<\/strong>, Artistic Director of Yllana and one of the creative forces behind <em>The Opera Locos<\/em>, who brought this Argentine version to the stage, working closely with the new cast to bring the show\u2019s essence, rhythm, humour and theatrical universe to Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This production was made possible thanks to the commitment of <strong>Juan Jos\u00e9 Campanella<\/strong>, who believed in <em>The Opera Locos<\/em> from the very beginning and opened the doors of the <strong>Teatro Politeama<\/strong> to this new Argentine version. Sharing this project with such an important figure in Argentine cinema and theatre has been an especially exciting experience for us.<\/p>\n<p>For this work to now receive <strong>three Hugo Awards, the most important honours in Argentine musical theatre<\/strong>, is a huge recognition of Joe\u2019s work, the talent of the cast and the entire team behind the production.
